Patrick Joseph Andrade, 72, of Pahala, died Jan. 27, 2020 at his residence. Born Jan. 19, 1948, in Pahala, he was a retired superintendent for the Ka‘u Agribusiness Co., U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and member of Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

He is survived by wife, Charlene Andrade of Pahala; daughters, Shelby Gascon of Pahala and Cindy (Kevin) Veloria of Hilo; three grandchildren and one great-grandson; brother, Edward (Judy) Andrade of Pahala; sisters, Dorothy Louis and Mary (Alfred) Ibarra of Pahala.

Lucy Keahi

Lucy “Teri” “Luka” Mailelani Keahi, 74, of Hilo, died Jan. 20, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. Born June 17, 1945, in Koolauloa, Oahu, she worked for Blanes Drive Inn in Hilo and was a member of The Gospel of Alpha and Omega Church in Hilo.

She is survived by daughters, Nobilee (Joey) Olivera and Desiree Keahi of Hilo, Sharla (Jaye) Hayashida-Laga of Oahu, Roberta Pinnow of Pahoa and Romona (Aaron) Ferreira of Pahoa; sons, Shannon Lee Keahi of Hilo and Dylan (Lani) Keahi of Killeen, Texas; hanai children, Jasmine (Dana) Ne-Nakamoto of Mountain View and Charlotte (Andy) Paez-Vergas of Volcano; 35 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Betty King

Betty Lee King, also known as Betty Sugimoto, 87, of Pahoa, died Jan. 20, 2020, at home. Born in Bristow, Okla., she was a homemaker, worked at the Wailoa Center, and was a painter and gave classes for painting on silk.

She is survived by daughters, Suzette (Dennis) Wood of Pahoa and Michelle (Larry) Smith of Aberdeen, Wash.; son, Dale Lanphere of Pahoa; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons.

Nolan Remmers

Nolan Michael Remmers, 70, of Keaau, died Jan. 22, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Dec. 12, 1949, in Honolulu, he was a retired collections manager for HFS Federal Credit Union, a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, and member of Kuhio Chapel in Keaukaha and the Ancient Order of Foresters Court Mauna Kea #8854.

Friends may call from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Feb. 6 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo for a 10 a.m. service. Burial to follow at noon at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2. Casual attire.

Kiyono Goya

Kiyono “Kay” Goya, 96, of Hilo, died Jan. 12, 2020, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Kaiwiki, she was a homemaker, retired proprietor of the former Goya Farms, member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and Upper Kaumana Kumiai.

She is survived by son, Melvin Goya of Hilo; daughters, Lorraine Miyataki of Hilo, Evelyn (Ron Omura) Kanja of Honolulu; brother, Roy (Gail) Takaki of Honolulu; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Louisa Ferreira

Louisa Ferreira, 94, of Hilo, died Jan. 17, 2020, at her residence. Born in Papa, South Kona, she was a homemaker.

Daniel Butelewicz

Daniel Philip Butelewicz, 46, of Kailua-Kona, died Jan. 22, 2020, in Honolulu. Born July 19, 1973, in Point Pleasant, N.J., he worked in the construction, security and solar industries in Kona, lifelong member of the International Club of Surf and Skate and a charter member of the Magic Fridays Club.

Rochelle Rei Okano, 47, of Keaau, died Jan. 24, 2020, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hilo, she was an operations supervisor for various retail establishments on Oahu.
